End-User License
While making any use of the LsDoor SDK you signify acceptance and
clear understanding of all these Licensing terms and conditions. You do
NOT own the LsDoor SDK under any circumstances, but are licensed to make
use of it as long as you comply with all restrictions and terms stated
herein. The authors (this includes Wiley Black, Systems Integrety
Incorporated, and Mike Dumdei) reserve the right to revoke all rights to
this software at any time. All these terms and conditions stated in this
document apply to both the shareware and the registered LsDoor SDK, and the
licensed MCOMM Library.
MCOMM License Agreement
The LsDoor SDK Library includes a specially licensed version of the MCOMM
Asynchronous Library from Mike Dumdei. This is only a small subset of the
MCOMM Library designed just for the LsDoor SDK. LsDoor will also operate
fine with the complete MCOMM Library which can be purchased directly from
Mike Dumdei (this also gives you access to all features of the MCOMM Library,
instead of going through the LsDoor library to use them.) Take note that if
you use the complete MCOMM Library, you will need to have the Z-Modem source
code if you want Z-Modem in your doors.
You may not make any use of the licensed MCOMM Library subset except with
programs designed especially for, and using, the LsDoor SDK. You may not
use the MCOMM Library subset alone or for any type of program except that of
an online-door with the LsDoor SDK. You may not modify the MCOMM Library in
any way. You may only distribute the licensed MCOMM Library subset as part
of the shareware LsDoor SDK. Distributing it by itself is considered a
modification to the software and is illegal.
The LsDoor SDK cannot be held liable for the failure or malfunction of the
licensed MCOMM Library subset. The licensed MCOMM Library subset cannot be
held liable for the failure or malfunction of the LsDoor SDK. The MCOMM
Library subset is owned by Mike Dumdei only and is licensed for use in the
LsDoor SDK by Wiley Black and Systems Integrety Inc.
The shareware LsDoor SDK may only be distributed with the licensed MCOMM
Library subset, and the licensed MCOMM Library subset can only be distributed
with the shareware LsDoor SDK. We will refer to this as the "package"
for the purposes of this document.
Shareware
Shareware is a form of marketting where a "Trial" or "Demo" version is
released to the public. Commonly, to get the complete or "registered"
version of the program, you must pay around $25 - $60, depending on the
program. Many shareware programs require that you either register or
discontinue use after a certain period. The LsDoor SDK comes in shareware
and registered versions. The shareware version disables a few features,
most importantly any support for the DOOR.SYS dropfile. You may use the
shareware LsDoor SDK as long as you like, and you may produce and sell
markettable programs with the restriction that any program you sell supports
only the INFOLINK.DAT dropfile format (for use with LightSpeed BBS's). You
may develop LORD IGM's using the Shareware LsDoor SDK but may not sell, give,
or market them in any way except for your own development purposes. Under
no circumstances may you sell any LORD IGM developed using the Shareware
LsDoor SDK. Any attempt to support the DOOR.SYS dropfile with the shareware
kit (which we THINK is impossible, but are not certain) is illegal.
Distribution
You may distribute the shareware LsDoor SDK following the terms stated
below.
You may NOT distribute the registered LsDoor SDK in any way. You have the
registered LsDoor SDK if you paid for it. If you acquire the registered
LsDoor SDK without paying for it, please report it to the Software Piracy
Agency. Do NOT make use of the registered LsDoor SDK without paying for it.
The terms for distribution are as follows:
* You may only distribute the shareware LsDoor SDK without modification
in its original and complete form.
* You may only distribute the licensed MCOMM Library subset with the
shareware LsDoor SDK and you may only distribute the shareware LsDoor SDK
with the licensed MCOMM Library. (Keep them together)
* You may not charge any fee greater than $10 for the distribution of
the shareware package.
* You may not distribute or sell, in any form or method, the registered
package in any part or whole without the written permission of Wiley
Black.
Warranty
The packages are provided as-is with no warranty of any kind. Systems
Integrety Inc., Wiley Black, and Mike Dumdei (hereafter the "authors")
cannot be held responsible in any way for any damages resulting directly or
indirectly from the use or inability to use any part or whole of the
packages. The authors cannot be held liable for any loss of profit
resulting directly or indirectly from the use of the packages.
Systems Integrety Inc. and Wiley Black DO warrant that for up to ninety
(90) days from the date of purchase the original distribution disk(s) of the
registered package will be replaced in the event of a defect.
The authors DO NOT make any promises or garuntees of any sort. Wiley
Black will attempt to offer technical support as stated in the LsDoor.Doc
document, however there is no garuntee, promise, or insurance of this
service.
